Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith has agreed to plead guilty to a single false statement charge, marking the first criminal action in the Durham investigation.
Kevin Clinesmith was working on the Carter Page FISA. He received information that Carter Page was a source for another intelligence agency (CIA) and falsified evidence to make it appear Page was not a source in order to obtain the FISA.
While in contact with what appeared to be the FBI’s liaison to the CIA, Mr. Clinesmith was informed via email that Mr. Page was indeed a source for the CIA. Mr. Clinesmith altered the email by inserting the words “not a source” into it, making it appear as if Mr. Page had no relationship with the CIA. Mr. Clinesmith made it appear Carter Page was a foreign agent. He would not have received authorization for the FISA Warrant otherwise.
Clinesmith also worked under former FBI General Counsel James Baker and reported to disgraced anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok during the Clinton email investigation.
In a July 2018 inspector general report on the FBI’s Clinton email investigation, Mr. Clinesmith appears again, but not directly identified, as one of the FBI officials who showed a possible bias against Trump, along with Mr. Strzok and his mistress, ex-FBI lawyer Lisa Page.
Just hours after President Trump’s presidential victory, Mr. Clinesmith lamented the win, saying “I am so stressed about what I could have done differently.” Weeks later, he texted “Viva la Resistance!” The resistance is a phrase used by anti-Trump activists.
Messages sent by FBI Attorney 2, who was discovered to be Kevin Clinesmith was the attorney who also worked on Mueller’s special counsel team up until late February 2018, after the IG told the special counsel team about some of the uncovered messages. FBI Attorney 2 was also assigned to the Clinton case and was the primary FBI attorney on the Russian interference investigation before Mueller’s appointment.
FBI Attorney 2 described himself as “a bit of a news junkie,” but said he never interjected his politics into his professional work. The attorney chatted with a number of other FBI employees about their views on Trump. After FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress days before the 2016 election that essentially announced the reopening of the Clinton investigation, Attorney 2 sent messages to several colleagues joking that they “never really liked the Republic anyway.” I have a feeling the Republic isn't a huge fan of Kevin Clinesmith either.
Clinesmith is SINGING. He could have been charged with MUCH more. He hated President Trump, but one doesn't falsify documents without clear instruction from superiors. Twitter Account @UndercoverHuber wrote the following, and I agree with this assessment.
On Thursday, August 13, 2020 during an interview with Maria Bartiromo President Trump further reinforced the fact the treasonous actions of those at the FBI, DOJ and Obama Administration was in fact Treason, and they need to be held accountable. He brought up the fact the Durham Investigation had not charged anybody to date in the coup against the President.
President Trump stated, "They spied on my campaign which is treason, they spied both before and after I won, think of that. Using the intelligence apparatus of the United States to take down a President, a legally elected president, a duly elected President of the United States. It's the single biggest political crime in the history of our country and I hope they're doing a job. I hope they're not going to be politically correct, and say well you know we want to go, just, let's just get the lower guys that forged the documents going in to FISA, let's just get a couple of the lower guys. I hope they're not going to be...
Bill Barr can go down as the greatest Attorney General in the history of our country, or he can just go down as just an average guy. It depends on what's going to happen."
President Trump also stated "they already have a special counsel working, and they have Durham working...." A special counsel...very interesting. What's more incredible is the fact there have been zero leaks in relation to any of the Obama Gate investigations.
In terms of where we are with this first charge in the Durham Investigation, we are here.
Kevin Clinesmith, was panicked when he discovered his text messages and emails were retrieved, with him making ludicrous comments about President Trump and his staff.
From the Horowitz Report:
The most telling comment, and the one that shows just how much Clinesmith was panicking, writing in a text "Plus, my god damned name is all over the legal documents investigating his staff" (Referring to President Trump's staff):
In the weeks to come, we will see more significant arrests. Kevin Clinesmith is the first domino to fall.
